New Favourite Primer

I started wearing makeup after marriage. Not because my husband forced me to. On the other hand, he seems to appreciate my natural beauty more than my makeup skills haha. He loves to see me without makeup so I decided not to wear makeup whenever I'm out with him except on special occasions.

Before I share my review on this product, I'd like to share some tips for makeup beginners. Before I was married, I really wanted to learn how to do my own makeup. Without going to any classes or watching makeup tutorial on youtube nor even practising my skills first, I went straight to splurging expensive makeup products (after watching makeup tutorial video once) which was a big mistake! I spent about RM700 at Sephora at that time but ended up not using the products until last year. Some are barely used until today! So imagine buying expensive makeup products but not being able to use them cause you still can't figure how to apply it. That's a complete waste of money. Remember ladies, every product has its deadline.

I watched a lot of makeup tutorials after I moved to Ampang. Learning from my previous mistakes, this time I spent my money on drugstore makeup products cause my goal was to brush up my skills first. And surprisingly, some of the drugstore products are much better than the expensive ones.

Now that I've improved a lot, I'm more confident to try and buy high-end makeup products. I can even give my own review on certain products without blindly giving one haha. It was one of the great lessons learned and I really enjoyed the process.

I bought The Liquid Silk Canvas by Tatcha a couple of days ago. I've seen so many good reviews on this primer so I decided to give it a try. Before this, I used the Urban Decay B6 Vitamin Infused Complexion Prep Priming Spray which I bought in 2016. That was 4 years ago man. I bought it because I was watching an influencer's makeup tutorial and she listed all the products she used on the video so I bought the primer without knowing what skin prep even meant haha. See, this is why you should not spend your money on high end product first before practicing your skills.

I wore Tatcha's primer during my husband's birthday dinner and I loved it. It lasted long and my makeup didn't turn cakey. My husband complimented my makeup that night. I was really happy cause he rarely said something about my makeup haha. I guess, this product worth every penny. I bought mine from Sephora.

If you have pores problem like I had before, try using The Porefessional Pro Balm by Benefit or if you're on a budget, Baby Skin Pore Eraser by Maybelline is also a good product to try. I've tried them both and I loved them.

Anyway, that's all from me now. I'll share some of my favourite foundations soon inshaAllah. Hope you've enjoyed reading this post. Take care and stay safe everyone.
