Brunch at Kenny Hills Baker

Yesterday, I took a day off from work and spent time with Kak Niza and his son. I wanted to treat her for her birthday earlier this month cause I wasn't in Kuala Lumpur at that time. Now that I'm here, we made a plan to meet up at the Kenny Hills Baker, Ampang.

However, being a workaholic I am, I had to bring my macbook along with me even though it was my off day lol. Usually, for businesses, this time of the year is very crucial. It's the time to hustle harder at work to achieve the company's target for that particular year. So, after the brunch slash lunch, I planned to go to Starbucks.

We agreed to meet up at 11.30 am. I arrived half an hour early cause my husband had to use the car to go to his office so I asked him to drop me off at the restaurant. Meanwhile, Kak Niza arrived half an hour later cause she was waiting for Hud to wake up from his afternoon nap.

My husband didn't want me to wait alone so he accompanied at the restaurant until Kak Niza came. While I was in the car, I had a chance to google Kenny Hills Baker popular menu. So I already knew what I wanted to have for brunch. At the restaurant, I was so hungry and couldn't wait longer so I ordered The Big Breakfast with Smoked Salmon (RM36.00), Hot Chai Latte (RM18.00) and Zaid had an Iced Mocha (RM16.00).

I loved the ambience there. Everything was okay but I think they can improve the ventilation in the kitchen area. There was smoke trapped inside the restaurant and it made everyone felt uncomfortable. The food was good but I think the lattes can be improved. Overall, it was okay. I think it's convenient that they have their own parking lot for their customers.

Most of the reviews I read complimented their pastries and I couldn't agree more. When Kak Niza arrived, I ordered their famous Peach Strudel (RM18.00) and it was really good. For cakes I would usually go for anything chocolate but this Peach Strudel was so delicious! I also ordered Iced Matcha Latte but I wasn't fond of it.

That's about it.

The last time I saw Hud was when he was still a baby. Now he knows how to talk, walk, run and even recognises animals and its names. MashaAllah. He was very shy at first and wouldn't talk to me, but as time went by he became friendly haha. So cute! We spent about 2 hours there. Then we went to Starbucks.

Kak Niza took off early that evening while I stayed for a while to finish my work haha. I know, I know. I can't stop working. Not long after that, Zaid picked me up at 6.00 pm and we went home after running some errands at Aeon Big. That was my day. After months of staying at home, it feels good to see some familiar faces again. I really miss my family in Sabah. Lets pray that may Allah remove covid-19 and other viruses out there so that we can live life as before and get to gather with our loved ones again.

That's all for now. I'll update more on my blog soon inshaAllah. Stay safe and take care!
